Yoga has been an integral part of my life for over 20 years and I have also been fortunate to be entrusted by many students over this time with their wellness, sharing my learnings and equally learning from them. I feel passionate about health and in particular women’s health; however all too often this is an area that is glossed over. Yoga, a traditional practice, often avoids the complexity with blanket exclusion rules; ‘don’t practice during your period’, ‘no inversions’ etc. Whilst this is safe advice, as individuals we are far more complex and sometimes, for example, nourishing movements can be exactly what we do need to do. Having undertaken extensive training in this field, I am able to support you through different phases bringing your health back into equilibrium. I’ll ask you to complete a health questionnaire, I’ll ask you questions as I try to get to know you better; what works for you, what doesn’t, what do you need support with! My goal is to create a yoga prescription that will support not only your mental & physical well being, but also something that is realistic given your current commitments (I mean, who isn’t busy!).

I draw on my Traditional Chinese Medicine knowledge to support your yoga prescription, so you can expect seasonal variations and acupressure points wrapped up into healthy movements that are hand-picked.

Therefore, women’s health sessions are offered as private classes. So, what you can you expect?

  1. Your first session will be a bit longer. We will go through a full health evaluation so that I can really understand your needs and then tailor a package of classes specifically for you.

  2. All classes will be on a 1-2-1 basis. This is all about supporting you!

  3. I will give you your very own movement prescription - expect specific breathing techniques, yoga postures combined with acupressure points wrapped up into your own sequence to do at home. Little and often is the key.

  4. If you are trying to fall pregnant, our sessions will be scheduled around your cycle so that I can support you at each of the different phases.

  5. Each time we meet, we will check-in and tweak your prescription based on your changing needs.

In my class library I created a class that is specifically for ladies during their menses. It is fairly general, in that it covers all bases. If you need specific support do get in touch, but if you just need to move give it a try, and do let me know how you get on!
