Props required:

  • Lots of cushions and pillows

  • Ideally a bolster (or spare yoga mat) to lean against a wall, or 2 large firmer pillows work well too.

Women’s Health Series - menstruation

Yoga, a system devised in the East (predominately by men...) advises us that we should refrain from all practice during menstruation. Sometimes movement is exactly what we need though; movement that increases circulation, encourages a downward flow of energy and leaves us feeling revitalised rather than depleted. This class is designed specifically for women during menstruation. That said, it can be enjoyed by anyone, at any time, looking for a free flowing, energy conserving movement practice.

You may want to only practice the start & end sections initially; gradually adding in bits from the middle as you increase your movement practice during this phase. Claire explains a little bit more in the class. Enjoy your health & wellness!

Props required:

  • A blanket, towel, foam block (a firm cushion will work too), and bolster (or second cushion).

second series backbends - mini workshop style

In this 90 minute guided class, Claire takes you through all of the standing postures at a regulsr class pace, then slows things down a bit to allow for more explanation as we practice the first portion of the Ashtanga second series.

This focuses during the sequence is on backbends. and they build progressively from Shalabhasana (in the image) through to Kapotasana. Modifications are provided throughout with more explanation than in a typical counted class.
